• Our servers are in use 24/7, what can Alpiron do for me?
  While many it-departments insist that their servers are in use 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, we often ask them if it is really necessary to have all on at all times.
  The answer is often, that the servers must be on because a part of their users need them, because updates are distributed, or backups need to be done. Alpiron Suite addresses these issues by being extremely flexible in regards to when your servers are on and when they are off. Alpiron Suite features completely customizable control policies, which enable Alpiron Suite to be used in a multitude of environments with different requirements to the immediate availability of your servers. And while some of the servers must be online at all times, Alpiron Suite can automate the process of starting/stopping servers according to the need, so the right amount of computing power is always available to your customers.
   
• We are moving towards virtualization
  Virtualization is an important technology, but it is far from the answer to everything. As long as you have a serverfarm with more than a single identical server, you will benefit from Alpiron Suite

• Why is my Citrix/Terminal server vendor telling me I should put all my servers on VMware machines?
  There are very few scenarios where it makes sense to consolidate several physical machines, operating identically in a unified farm, onto a number of machines running VMware, but in most cases this will mean purchasing more physical machines to accommodate the same number of users. More physical machines mean more energy for servers and cooling, licenses for virtualization software. All in all it's a big extra expense, while you could be saving money with Alpiron Suite.
   
• Our hosting has been outsourced
  You should contact your hosting provider and let them explain what they are doing to save power for you. You should be able to get a considerable price reduction from them, after they begin using Alpiron Suite.

• We use bladeservers
  While it is true that bladeservers use less energy than most regular servers, they still use a lot of power, and the percent-wise power consumption is still in many cases reduced by over 50%.
   
• Will Alpiron Suite interfere with my loadbalancing?
  No, Alpiron Suite works with your loadbalancer in order to minimize energy usage.
   
• Which kind of hardware do I need in order to utilize Alpiron Suite?
  Alpiron Suite is a pure software solution, and will work with all modern servers. This means you will not have to purchase additional hardware to implement Alpiron Suite in your environment.
   
• Will Alpiron Suite affect the stability of my servers?
  All aspects of the Alpiron Suite are optimized to have a low impact on your servers. This includes low memory-footprint as well as CPU usage.
